I found myself back in Toronto for my last two days in Canada before onward travel to the USA. There are so many things to see and do in Toronto but I managed to find a bargain museum visit and of course another trip to the Toronto Islands.
After my short trip up to Niagara Falls I booked back into another hostel in Toronto but this time in different part of the city I get to soak up a bit more sun and explore a few more Toronto attractions.
My first spot was a bit of a bust though. I head to a spot called Fort York which is an open air museum and an 1813 battle site. I’m not a massive history buff so decided to skip and I end up having lunch is the adjacent park instead and going a wander along the water front.
I decided to do a second trip out to the Toronto Islands and try to get a bit of a tan before moving on. On this visit I explored a different section on the Centre Island that has just as pretty views of the CN Tower before heading for a beachy filled afternoon.
My last day in Toronto was a Friday and luckily I had done my research and after 4pm is “Best Value Fridays” at the Royal Ontario Museum meaning I managed to save quite a few pennies just by doing a quick google. The bargain ticket turns out fantastic and I end up spending ages in the ROM, which is much bigger than I was expecting.
Eventually my little legs get tired having already done the 30 minute walk to get there so I have to call it a day but this is certainly somewhere to get lost for hours so if you have the time I highly recommend spending a few hours in here. I however head off for an early night as the following morning brings an early flight and therefore even earlier start from my hostel. Did that alarm ready say 4.30 am? Oh dear.
